Over the weekend, the New Orleans Suspects were robbed in their home city of New Orleans. The fan-favorite NOLA crew had their van parked around the corner from the Maple Leaf Bar in the Big Easy when robbers broke into the vehicle and its trailer and stole all of the band’s equipment. The site of the crime is particularly saddening, given that the group has been a staple at the Uptown bar since they came together in 2009.To recoup some of their losses, the New Orleans Suspects have set up a GoFundMe page to help them fund replacements for the stolen gear. Per the recently launched GoFundMe campaign page, “We had nearly every piece of equipment stolen from our van/trailer this week. From keyboards to guitar amps to Willie Green‘s Neville Bros custom drum kit…these thieves seemed to have gotten just about everything we own.”The replacement of the New Orleans Suspects’ gear is a particularly time-sensitive issue given that the band has a number of upcoming appearances on the horizon, including at Mountainbrook, Alabama’s Otey Fest this coming weekend on July 28th, before they’re slated to return to the Maple Leaf on August 4th. From there, the New Orleans Suspects are scheduled to meet up with powerful vocalist and trumpeter Jen Hartswick for a string of four shows across the Northeast, spanning from August 8th to 11th.If you have any information about the robbery, please contact the New Orleans police department and the band.
