Facebook0TwitterEmailPrintFriendly分享The construction project on the roadway from the Sterling Highway into the Russian River Campground is wrapping up just in time for the upcoming summer season. The project consists of additional overflow parking, pavement reclamation, pavement, signage, and striping of the entrance from the Sterling Highway leading into the entrance of the campground. The Russian River Campground is perched between the Russian and Kenai Rivers in south-central Alaska. It lies within driving distance of two main population centers, 110 miles south of Anchorage and 40 miles east of Soldotna, surrounded by the Chugach National Forest and the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge. The project started back in March, and is expected to be completed by June 8. The project was contracted for $1.3 million.
